Notice that we Southerners have the cheapest gas in the United States. You can clearly see that the States of the old Confederacy stand out for their lower prices while in most cases the States just outside of the South have significantly higher gas prices. Meanwhile, the loonies in the California State and local governments have ensured that Californians have to pay through the nose for gas. But the Californians continue electing those people to office. I guess they enjoy paying super high prices for gas. Notice that once you cross the State border and leave California gas prices drop significantly.
